HAUT DE PAVOT When Pope Urban II proclaimed the First Crusade in 1095 in an attempt to regain the Holy Lands, he took the will of God and placed it upon the backs of men. He placed it upon their swords and upon their shields and sent them forth to shed the blood of those they did not know, all under the promise of salvation. Knelt amongst the blood of the innocent they praise God and hope that He is real.
Inspired by that same tradition the HAUT DE PAVOT line takes the poppy, fetishized as a religious symbol in the BLESSEDPOPPY line, and decapitates it. The glorious crown of the poppy is placed upon armor-like jewelry, in recognition not of the Holiness, but of the walls we build and the weapons we carry, slouched toward the fear that seems to feel always more present than love.
